Violet Labs was founded to make iterative hardware engineering an organized and seamless process. With similar backgrounds in aerospace hardware engineering, Lucy and Caitlin had years of experience in using tools that are complex and, while useful for their specific tasks, ultimately inefficient when the users have to deal with a dozen of them in a sophisticated workflow. When Lucy worked on technical project management at Amazon’s Project Kuiper, she recognized this pain point and decided to build a holistic solution to become the central operating system for hardware engineering and a single source of truth.
Thesis Fit
Violet Labs belongs to the category of enterprise software applications to transform the process of hardware engineering. For over two years, our investment team had evaluated and ultimately passed on a number of companies in this vertical due to business strategy and concerns about the team, but we patiently waited for the right opportunity. Violet Labs has a strong technical background with experience at leading space tech companies and a track record of success. Their early GTM focuses on aerospace and we can be a uniquely helpful partner.
